Meet Our First Residents – Denis & Judi
We’re delighted to introduce Denis & Judi, two of our very first residents here at the village. They bring with them a wonderful mix of life experience, adventure, and community spirit.
Judi trained as a nurse and spent time working night shifts in London and travelling throughout Europe for several years. Denis worked in Human Resource Management for more than 30 years before opening his own employment relations consultancy business in the Waikato, where he still assists a few clients today.
Both enjoy keeping active and involved in a variety of hobbies. Judi loves tramping, swimming, music, art, and giving new life to recycled treasures, while Denis enjoys sport, movies, horse racing, golf, and music. He was also heavily involved in rugby management in Wellington for many years.
When asked about the best advice they’ve received, Denis shared, “Don’t panic,” while Judi’s advice was, “Do your research” and “breathe.”
If they could travel anywhere tomorrow, Judi would head straight to Florence, Italy for the people, food, and culture, while Denis would love to visit Ireland, where his family ancestry began.
What they enjoy most about village life so far is the peaceful environment, beautiful surroundings, birds and trees, and especially the kindness and friendliness of the people around them.

Grey Power AGM – A Great Success
We were pleased to host the Grey Power AGM on 6 May at 1:30pm, which was a great success with an excellent turnout. The meeting was held in the Ballroom, with refreshments served in the Kitchen area within The Villa Hub.
Following the formal proceedings, those who wished to do so enjoyed a walk around the Village to view the facilities and gain a closer look at our community.
We were delighted to welcome Grey Power and their members to our Village for this successful and well-attended event.
Bingo Afternoons
Come along and enjoy a fun-filled afternoon of Bingo on the first Saturday of every month at 2pm! It’s a great opportunity to meet new people, share a few laughs, and maybe even win a prize or two.
Whether you’re a seasoned Bingo player or just keen to give it a go, everyone is welcome. It’s all about having fun, connecting with others, and enjoying a bit of light-hearted excitement as the numbers are called.
